In a tweet today, IOHK CEO Charles Hoskinson responded to David Hoffman’s assertion that Cardano is a fraud. According to him, the extreme unreasonableness of the opinions is a factor that detracts from the excellent reputation of cryptographers.

This is unusual. On any given day, many of these podcasters feel comfortable calling Cardano a shameless scammer. It’s one thing to say you’re a skeptic. Again, he calls us criminals. This is the cryptocurrency of 2021. Find out why so many people want nothing to do with her, he tweeted.

It’s amazing. Many podcasters one day call a gimbal blatant cheating. It’s one thing to say you’re a skeptic. Again, he calls us criminals. This is the cryptocurrency of 2021. Find out why so many people don’t want to hear about it? https://t.co/pawS4YVjwG

Moreover, Hoffman’s comments have sparked a rivalry between Cardano and Ethereum, with Cardano appearing to be the frontrunner when it comes to launching a standard smart contract platform, Proof-of-Stake. Is there any truth to Hoffman’s opinion?

Cardano does not have smart contracts, butdoes.

In a conversation with Scott Melker, aka All Street Wolf, Hoffman made the case for Ethereum and updated the audience on important developments, including his thoughts on the controversial 1559 Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP).

EIP 1559 proposes to improve the UX portfolio by introducing a more predictable and stable gas payment mechanism. It also has a deflationary element that burns the base compensation instead of paying it out to the miners. Some miners refuse this solution because they have to reckon with a loss of income.

When it comes to Ethereum killers, Hoffman was quick to dismiss Cardano as a strong opponent. He said:

Cardano doesn’t even have smart contracts, I’m very skeptical of Cardano. There is no application, you can just make a bet and submit it if necessary. There is no application layer, no assets, no trading, no UniSwap. I’m going to put on my very skeptical hat and probably call Cardano a pure scam.

Hoffman praised Polkadot, another platform that some are calling the Ethereum killer, saying it is a viable alternative, but only because it lacks the false marketing used by Cardano. He also took the opportunity to soften the blow by suggesting that the company also engages in unethical practices.

Hoskinson has already addressed Hoffman’s issues

In a live broadcast presented by Hoskinson a month ago, the IOG leader criticized Cardano for his lack of dandyism. He compared the comments to people asking: Where are the players from the nightclub?

And yet they say what kind of puppies run around Cardano? It’s like opening a nightclub, you haven’t opened it yet, and you say: Why isn’t anyone in your nightclub? It’s like we’re still building it.

He added that NFT markets, stables, oracles and DEX are on the way. But not before Alonzo’s scene is over. With the latest update, the August version has been released.
