Microstrategy bought bitcoins for another $1.026 billion, bringing the total number of bitcoins to about 90,531. The CEO said his company remains focused on its two business strategies – growing its business analytics software business and acquiring and storing Bitcoin.

More than $2 billion now in Treasury reserves Microstrategy

Microstrategy Inc. announced Wednesday that it has acquired approximately 19,452 additional Bitcoins for about $1.026 billion in cash at an average price of about $52,765 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses. The announcement continues:

See you on the 24th. As of February 2021, the Company owns a total of 90,531 Bitcoins purchased for a total purchase price of approximately $2.171 billion and an average purchase price of approximately $23,985 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses.

The company used the proceeds from a $1.05 billion convertible bond it closed last week to buy more Bitcoins.

Pro-bitcoin’s CEO, Michael Saylor, said his company remains focused on its two business strategies: expanding its business analysis software business and acquiring and storing bitcoins.

The amount of Bitcoin the company owns confirms its belief that Bitcoin, as the world’s most widely used crypto-currency, can serve as a reliable store of value, Microstrategy explains.
