The University of California, Berkeley and Parity Technologies are joining forces on several fronts, including educational development and outreach, using Parity’s team of experts and the Substrate framework as resources for knowledge building.

Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator CPU Partners with Parity to drive adoption ofmodular chain

To attract more resources to the University of California, the Berkeley community, and the Blockchain Xcelerator, Parity Technologies and the academic institution are expanding existing relationships to create a resource-rich educational base for the 2020-2021 academic year.

This deepening collaboration follows Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator’s prominence with Parity and Polkadot startups in its program, which has already accelerated 45 high-quality blockchain projects since its launch in 2019. These strengthened relationships will allow the gender development team to introduce innovation to university students through a multi-faceted approach, beginning with efforts focused on a block curriculum.

Parity’s Substrate blockchain framework and the second-generation Polkadot protocol will play an important role in these educational efforts, given their utility as tools and utilities in an ever-expanding ecosystem. In addition, Parity’s involvement will include promoting new project ideas and exploring other valuable educational aspects in order to improve the interaction of the community as a whole.

Application of the manual override method to block diagrams

A notable event in this new partnership is a lecture by Dr Gavin Wood. Wood, co-founder of Parity Technologies and the Polkadot network, is a well-known name in blockchain circles. In his previous role as technical director and co-founder of Ethereum, he was responsible for the development of the Solidity language and the Ethereum virtual machine.

Mr. Wood will participate in the renowned Innovator A lecture series. Richard Newton in March 2021, offers the Berkeley community a unique opportunity to benefit from his rich experience.

According to Dr. Wood,

Innovations in production lines are evolving rapidly, and as we move this industry from existing networks to next generation production lines like Polkadot, it is essential that the next generation of programmers, engineers and entrepreneurs are equipped with the tools they need to succeed in this highly competitive space. If we are to realize the Web 3.0 vision I outlined in 2015, students like Berkeley must find an alternative to the traditional Web 2.0 world of Silicon Valley into which they were immersed immediately after college.

In addition to its goal of exposing community members, educators and students to next-generation technology through educational programs and conferences, Parity plans to deepen its support for the Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator. This consulting work includes advising on the development of Polkdaot and the growing Web3 ecosystem. So far, Xcelerator has already developed several projects for the Polkadot network. These include Acala’s decentralized financial ecosystem and Stack Technologies, which provides intelligent contracting capabilities.
